Kindness Words & Sounds
Vocabulary, stress and sincere intonation
A ready-to-teach B1+ topic lesson on kindness that combines vocabulary, pronunciation and a simple brain-training idea.
Students share the kindest thing anyone has done for them, then explore the kind word family and useful collocations (a random act of kindness, out of the kindness of your heart). A short reading, Kindness at Work, puts the vocabulary in context before a gap-fill. The pronunciation focus is sounding kind: word stress, connected speech and how intonation makes the same words sound sincere or sarcastic. Students sort kind and unkind language, practise catch it, check it, change it, choose a kindness challenge and finish with an exit ticket and further reading from research on kindness.
