Dependent Prepositions
A ready-to-teach B1+ grammar lesson on dependent prepositions, built around the story of the Cork Jazz Festival and what visitors can do there.
Teams guess true or false about the festival, then read a short article on how a cancelled bridge tournament and a hotel with empty rooms led to one of Ireland's best-known music festivals. They find and sort 12 verb, adjective and noun + preposition pairs, then work out the rules: -ing after a preposition, and the preposition at the end of a question. A team race with double-point rounds, a role-play at the festival information desk, a 'find someone who' mingle about festivals in their own countries and an exit ticket follow.
